FUCK’N 30

A MOVIE THAT MOVES

PRODUCTION TRUST 2004
Melbourne 2005
Sound by Hard-Ons

Lesley and Mikey Young, Christopher Hennessy, Daniel Hennessy & Klara Klaric for Sally Mc Phee

Fuck’n 30 is a movie that impressed the public on Saturday evening.
This movie has come out from the editing suite at 13 Balston st. just after 10 pm, to be screened at Sally’s party a couple hours later.

Good timing. Mickey and Lesley Young have arrived in glamorous fashion. Their involvement in the movie production was of essential importance.
Now we were waiting for Daniel Hennessy to appear and give a green light for the screening.
As a well respected movie star he comes a bit later, but in a great mood. Followed by his female inspiration, another movie star Georgia, he got again a lot of attention from both male and female guests.

So Chris Andrews had his lap top ready, Sally didn’t know what was just about to be presented and I decided to give a little introduction to the movie just to generate a complete professional pose.

There it was, two minutes of exceptional entertainment; very funky but still stylish, fast and funny, smart and stimulating.

About the movie and the cause for its production - Sally Mc Phee
This young woman is the genuine inspiration for her friends. She has that sort of personality that in one word shines. (Shiny Mc Phee). If anyone she is the person you want to know and be her friend.
She is the one that unconditionally gives love, she knows the secrets of ones heart and she is always rejuvenating for people around her.

This movie is dedicated to Sally’s and is a gift for her 30-th birthday.

Flip, flip, flip with my female friends

Flip, flip, flip with my female friends…

Everything good starts in the kitchen, of course it would if it is where women belong.
A gathering; close friends, some essential ingredients, a room filled with a somewhat dreamy ambiance and STRICTLY no boys can only equal Pancake night!

Accompaniments are a necessity; fruit is diced, custard simmering, eyes gleaming…As I take a drag of my cigarette and pour the batter into the hot fry pan, I look around and see my friends eagerly await my perfectly shaped delights.

Flip, flip, flip and finally finished. Table is set, we’re ready to go, ready to enjoy these culinary delights… One mouthful, one thought, “Suffer boys!”

62,400 repetitions

She blew like a north wind, through the sparse and cold Loop.

Bringing the warm glow of humanity to the stage, bathing Koshovko in images of nature and childlike wonder, she impressed us.

Alongside friends drinking and laughing with one another, the bleak “Yeah…… Maybe you don’t want to pursue this as a career?” Egg Nazi horror film struggles for ratings.

Did she mistake repetition for insight? And what about Frame Rate…?

And what is the meaning behind the Serbian Chinese takeout talk?

*sigh*

Sally & Lelly on the Telly

I have these friends called Sally and Lelly, I want them to make a TV show. Picture these two smart, funny and vivacios women, sitting in a great place. Could be a great classic set of couches, ambiant lighting, atmosphere. The aim is to bring people in and get them to talk about things, interesting things, things people want to know.

Its going to be called “Sally & Lelly on the TELLY” Imagine that, what a name in flashing lights. Good music, ah it will be great.

There are are many different modes of communication. There will be live interviews and segments but also some internet interaction in some way. There could also be interviews with the public.

Some ideas so far:

Cooking, Good food,
Intersting people maybe even mothers,
Talking to older people, asking them about life and learning from their wisdom
Pet segments with Odette, Odette’s K9 heaven,

Beasically these girls have an amzing support network of people who can help them to achieve this. I have helped them by making them realise that they can do it. I will organise to get them on channel 31. I will get the equipment and help them with the concept and design.

And so it starts.

Lelly: Well this is different.
Sally: Hm… well yeah
Lelly: Should we start?
Sally: People of Australia here is your chance to relate ……………..

Tips on Staying Warm

Tips on Staying Warm.

1. Create a fire. For this, you will need a lighting device and fuel, preferably wood.
2. Wood may be obtained from tree or in log form from a petrol station.
3. If you are not near trees and petrol station is out of logs it is best to borrow someone else’s wood. For this, you will need a balaclava.
4. Gloves are also good for preventing fingerprints.
5. And beautiful friends are a priceless advantage.
6. Jump your neighbour’s fence.
7. Collect enough wood for the size of fire you require; be realistic and not greedy.
8. Swiftly and respectfully leave your neighbour’s yard, making a mental note to bring them some lemons one day.
9. Re-enter your premises where chilly and anxious friends greet you like a hero.
10. Light fire.

My First VJ-ing Experience

Tonight I was wearing simple pattern dress. This pattern is built up of the consecutive
brown and of white square shapes. It actually looks like a pixel based pattern. That in it self was an introduction into a work to be presented. While other artists were getting into place, an atmosphere of awkwardness spreading, I hoped to project outlines of presentation and hence provide focus. It was to be a night of melodic electronic music and of visuals arresting attention and thoughts of unwary audience.

Mr Young

My very good friend, Mikey Young is a remarkable man. I enjoyed photographing him one day at the back of a house in St Kilda East. The photo was so good I decided to turn it into a poster for his birthday which was soon. It showed Mikey stretching his arms above his head and I used this image to create a movie poster with the title “Mr Young”. He is from Adelaide so I used a sky from Adelaide as the backdrop for the poster and in the credits I put the names of myself and Mikey’s good friends. When he received the poster a few weeks after his birthday (it took a while to get it printed and mounted correctly) he was very pleased and flattered that his friends went to such an effort. He carried it home and was rained on, sadly the poster was damaged. He was very sad and asked if I could make another. Which I did.

I hear that every day when people come to visit Mr Young they all see the poster and are amazed. I think Mr Young is very proud of the gift we made for him.

three legs

Pieter Bruegel The Elder 1525-1569
Peasant wedding
c. 1568
Oil on wood

Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna

Bruegel is known as on of the greatest Flemish painters in the Art History. He was pioneering painting scenes from the rural environment. But how surprised I was when I realized that there is a leg extra for a number of people in this scene. If you look better on the right side, the person that carries tray has three legs.
Later on Descartes said: “I think, therefore I am”. I wonder was healso confused with this third leg too ?

A few “minor “questions these people are dealing with. Quotation:

“We’re asking three simple, challenging questions here at the frontier of particle physics:

What is the nature of the universe?

What are matter, energy, space and time?

How did we get here and where are we going?”
